E-commerce Platform Transformation
Rebuilt storefront and ops tooling to increase conversion and fulfillment speed.
We helped a fintech team launch a secure digital banking experience on AWS — with real-time insights, streamlined onboarding, and cloud-native reliability.
Finance · Case study
A growth-stage fintech building a digital banking experience for retail customers in India. Product, risk, and operations leaders needed a funding-ready platform: fast onboarding for customers, live visibility for ops, and cloud spend that would not spiral before the next milestone. They had partial prototypes and compliance pressure, but not a maintainable production core. Prior vendors had delivered screenshots and demos; AVYRION was asked to deliver a platform ops could run and auditors could review. Stakeholders included product, engineering, risk, and customer support — each with different definitions of “done.”
Customer onboarding took too many manual steps, session and risk signals lived in disconnected tools, and monthly AWS spend climbed faster than active usage. Leadership could not demonstrate a controlled cost trajectory or a single pane of glass for triage — both blockers for the next product and fundraising milestone. Support exported CSVs to answer basic “what happened in this session” questions. Risk lacked timely signals. Engineering spent cycles firefighting instead of shipping payments readiness. The business problem was not a missing feature list — it was an unreliable operating system for digital banking growth.
Deliver a secure, scalable digital banking experience without a multi-year rewrite or an unmaintainable monolith. Constraints included role-based access for support and risk, performance budgets on onboarding and dashboards, staged environments reviewers could audit, and a modular boundary ready for payments and cards later — without boiling the ocean in phase one. Non-goals were explicit: no full cards stack in MVP, no premature microservices sprawl, and no dark-pattern onboarding that would fail compliance review. The delivery challenge was sequencing trust, cost control, and customer speed in the same release train.
AVYRION designed and built a cloud-native banking platform on AWS with conversion-focused onboarding, role-based access, and real-time operational dashboards. We treated security controls, observability, and infrastructure as code as release requirements, not afterthoughts. Discovery mapped the onboarding funnel and compliance constraints with product and risk stakeholders before a line of production code shipped. Weekly demos kept everyone aligned while we right-sized services, introduced caching where it mattered, and documented runbooks for cutover. Performance budgets gated dashboard and onboarding interactions so “fast enough in a slide” could not replace measured latency under load. The result was a production-ready core the client could extend for payments and cards instead of replacing — with ops finally triaging live issues without spreadsheet exports.
Browser and mobile clients call a Node.js API behind an API gateway. Authentication uses short-lived tokens with role-based policies for customer, support, and risk personas. Operational events stream into dashboards so teams can triage without spreadsheet exports. PostgreSQL holds core account and session state with clear ownership boundaries between profile, session, and insights services. Infrastructure is defined in Terraform across staging and production, with centralized logging and alarms on latency, errors, and cost anomalies. Blue/green style cutover reduced launch risk, and handover included IaC, monitoring playbooks, and a backlog for payments and card modules on the same platform core. Cost dashboards sat next to reliability alarms so engineering and finance shared one narrative about spend versus usage.
“AVYRION gave us a production-ready banking experience without the cloud bill spiral we feared — and our ops team finally has dashboards they trust.”
FAQ
Core onboarding and ops dashboards shipped in phased milestones over several months, with discovery first, then iterative builds and a controlled AWS launch.
