Modern Banking Platform on AWS
A secure digital banking experience with real-time insights and seamless onboarding.
We partnered with a seed-stage founding team to ship a B2B SaaS MVP — authentication, core workflows, billing hooks, and a cloud foundation ready for the next fundraising milestone.
Startups · Case study
A seed-stage B2B SaaS team selling workflow software to mid-market ops leaders. Runway was short. They needed a credible product for investors and design partners — not a fragile prototype that broke in every demo. Founders could articulate the problem thesis clearly, but engineering capacity and staging discipline lagged the story. Prior weekend builds had created UI without durable auth, billing, or rollback. AVYRION joined as a product engineering partner to ship an MVP that survived diligence questions and early customer onboarding.
The team had a strong problem thesis but an unreliable prototype: no durable auth, incomplete billing path, and no staging parity. Every demo risked breaking trust with the people who could fund or validate the product. Without entitlements and a monetization hook, “interested” design partners could not become early revenue. Without staging parity, bugs appeared only when founders presented. The business problem was conversion of narrative into a trustworthy product surface under runway pressure.
Ship a production-credible MVP fast without painting the architecture into a corner that would block the next ten customers. Scope had to be ruthless: one primary job-to-be-done, auth, admin basics, and monetization hooks — with infrastructure as code from day one. Non-goals included multi-tenant complexity beyond early needs, mobile apps, and a marketplace of secondary features. The challenge was saying no loudly enough that the yes items shipped solid.
AVYRION locked non-goals with founders, then shipped weekly: authentication, the core workflow, admin basics, and Stripe-ready billing hooks on a maintainable React/Node stack. Success metrics for the MVP were explicit — design-partner demos without staging surprises, and a path to first paid seats. Staging parity, error tracking, and a rollback path came before launch so diligence questions had honest answers. We kept the architecture boring on purpose: one primary job-to-be-done, clear entitlements, and infrastructure as code from day one. Phase two backlog captured what we deliberately deferred so founders were not forced into a rewrite after the first ten customers.
React web app talking to a Node.js API and PostgreSQL. Auth uses short-lived sessions with role checks suitable for early B2B seats. Billing events flow through Stripe webhooks into entitlements so monetization is not bolted on after the demo tour. AWS staging and production are defined in Terraform with CI deploys and basic observability — enough for early customers without a premature microservices split. Weekly demos kept founders and design partners aligned on scope, and handover included runbooks plus a sequenced backlog for the next feature tranche.
“AVYRION treated the MVP like a real product — not a throwaway demo — and we walked into investor meetings with something we trusted.”
